For Listening and Reading, CELPIP currently publishes approximate example ranges:

Why Level 10 preparation is different from broad beginner study

When a candidate is already near Level 9 or 10, improvement is often less about learning large amounts of general English and more about removing small repeatable failures under time pressure.

Examples:

• Listening: one speaker's opinion is attributed to another speaker.
• Reading: a plausible option is chosen without checking the exact evidence.
• Writing: ideas are relevant but underdeveloped, or one prompt requirement is missed.
• Speaking: the response is fluent but the second reason is thin or the conclusion is cut off.

Those are trainable problems. “Improve English” is too vague to become a useful study session.

Listening: move from good accuracy to stable accuracy

The current CELPIP-General Listening component is 46–55 minutes. Its six scored parts list 8, 5, 6, 5, 8 and 6 questions, while unscored development items may also appear.

For a Level 10 target:

1. Complete fresh audio once under simulation conditions.
2. Use compact notes for speaker, purpose, decision, contrast and change.
3. Commit to every answer before opening a transcript.
4. For each miss, write the exact cue you failed to preserve.
5. Repeat the same error type on different audio, not the same question.

Reading: make every difficult answer evidence-based

The current Reading component is 43–56 minutes with four scored parts. High-level practice should focus on the questions that remain uncertain after basic comprehension is already strong.

For each difficult question, record:

• the exact sentence, paragraph, diagram condition or viewpoint that supports the answer;
• why the strongest distractor fails;
• whether the error came from paraphrase, inference, condition, viewpoint or time pressure.

A Level 10 goal therefore needs more than error-free grammar. Review whether the response develops ideas precisely, uses vocabulary naturally, organizes information clearly, and fully performs the requested communication job.

CELPIP's published scoring-level sample prompts use an approximate 150–200-word instruction. Do not pad a response merely to reach the top of that range. Relevant development matters more than repetition.

Use lower-volume mixed practice so strong skills do not become neglected.

Days 8–11: second repair block

Day 12: full mock
